Things to Do in Costa del Sol This Week: 10–16 August 2026
Looking for the best things to do in Costa del Sol this week? From Monday 10 August to Sunday 16 August 2026, the Costa del Sol combines long summer evenings, Mediterranean beaches, live entertainment and one of Andalucía's biggest annual celebrations: the start of the Feria de Málaga.
Whether you are staying in Málaga, Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Mijas or Marbella, there is plenty to add to your holiday schedule. This weekly Costa Card guide highlights some of the best events and activities taking place between 10 and 16 August 2026.
1. Experience the Start of Feria de Málaga 2026
When: Saturday 15 August onwards
Where: Málaga
Best for: Couples, groups, families and culture lovers
Without question, one of the biggest things to do in Costa del Sol this week is visiting Málaga for the opening weekend of the famous Feria de Málaga.
The official 2026 edition takes place from 15 to 22 August, transforming Málaga into one of the biggest summer celebrations in southern Spain.
During the daytime, the historic centre becomes the heart of the festivities. Expect decorated streets, flamenco dresses, music, dancing and busy terraces around areas such as Calle Larios, Plaza de la Constitución and the surrounding old town.
Later, the celebrations continue at Real Cortijo de Torres, Málaga's main fairground, where you will find fairground attractions, food, music and traditional casetas.
If you are staying elsewhere along the Costa del Sol, Málaga is easily accessible by train from destinations including Torremolinos, Benalmádena and Fuengirola.
Location: Málaga Historic Centre & Real Cortijo de Torres, Málaga
Official information: Málaga City Council – Feria de Málaga 2026
Costa Card tip: Combine your visit with another activity in Málaga. Explore the Costa Card activities and discounts before travelling into the city.
2. See Jardín de las Delicias at OMA Sound Marbella
When: Thursday 13 August
Where: San Pedro Alcántara, Marbella
Best for: Friends, couples and festival lovers
Marbella's summer calendar continues this week with OMA Sound, a summer festival concept at the Recinto Ferial La Caridad in San Pedro Alcántara.
On 13 August, Jardín de las Delicias comes to Marbella for the first time. The concept combines live music with an immersive visual festival atmosphere.
If you are looking for something that is genuinely specific to this week rather than another standard beach activity, this is one of the more interesting options around Marbella.
Location: Recinto Ferial La Caridad, C. Torrente Ballester 33, San Pedro Alcántara
Afterwards, you can continue the evening around Marbella or Puerto Banús. For more inspiration, see our guide to fun things to do in Marbella.
3. Watch Omega 30 Aniversario at Starlite Marbella
When: Saturday 15 August, 22:00
Where: Starlite Occident, Marbella
Best for: Music and Spanish culture lovers
Saturday offers another major event in Marbella.
Omega 30 Aniversario brings Kiki Morente and Lagartija Nick to the Starlite Occident auditorium. The performance celebrates the groundbreaking musical legacy of Enrique Morente's Omega, combining flamenco with rock, poetry and experimental influences.
For visitors interested in contemporary Spanish culture, this is a very different experience from the typical Costa del Sol nightlife scene.
Location: Starlite Occident, C. Albinoni, s/n, Marbella
Date: 15 August 2026
Start: 22:00
4. Take a Dolphin-Watching Trip from Fuengirola
Not every great experience needs to be tied to a festival. August is also an excellent time to experience the Mediterranean from the water.
A dolphin excursion from Fuengirola gives you the opportunity to leave the busy promenade behind and search for dolphins along the Costa del Sol coastline.
It is particularly suitable for families and couples, while an evening departure can be a beautiful way to enjoy the coast when temperatures begin to drop.
Costa Card holders can currently receive a 20% discount on participating dolphin excursions.
Location: Puerto Deportivo de Fuengirola

5. Visit Fuengirola's Market on Saturday
When: Saturday 15 August
Where: Fuengirola
Saturday 15 August is the national Feast of the Assumption and therefore a public holiday in Spain. However, Fuengirola has confirmed that its Saturday market will still take place according to its normal schedule.
This makes it an easy addition to a morning in Fuengirola.
Browse clothing, accessories and local products before heading towards Los Boliches, Fuengirola's promenade or the beach.
During August, we recommend visiting markets relatively early. Temperatures rise quickly around midday.
6. See Mago Orbit at Castillo Sohail
When: Sunday 16 August
Where: Castillo Sohail, Fuengirola
Best for: Families with children
Families searching for things to do in Costa del Sol this week should keep Sunday evening free.
On 16 August, magician Mago Orbit brings his Acero 2.0 show to the Castillo Sohail stage as part of the Marenostrum Fuengirola programme.
The production is designed as a large-scale family magic show, combining illusions and entertainment in the spectacular surroundings of Fuengirola's historic castle.
Location: Castillo Sohail, Fuengirola
Date: Sunday 16 August 2026

7. Escape the Afternoon Heat at Prison Island Benalmádena
August afternoons can become extremely warm, making indoor activities particularly useful between beach sessions.
One of our recommendations is Prison Island Benalmádena. Instead of one traditional escape room, teams complete a collection of different cells containing physical, tactical and puzzle-based challenges.
It works particularly well for families with older children, couples and groups of friends.
Costa Card users currently receive 30 extra minutes of playing time.
Location: Benalmádena

8. Spend an Evening in Mijas Pueblo
For a slower evening, travel into the hills and explore Mijas Pueblo.
The whitewashed village offers a completely different atmosphere from the coastal resorts below. Walk through the historic centre, visit Plaza de la Constitución and enjoy the viewpoints overlooking the Mediterranean.
During August, an evening visit is particularly attractive. Temperatures are more comfortable and restaurants and terraces remain lively after sunset.
For something more adventurous, Costa Card also offers benefits on selected experiences around Mijas, including buggy tours, karting and horse trails.
9. Discover Benalmádena After Sunset
Benalmádena is another excellent destination for a summer evening.
Start around Puerto Marina, walk along the waterfront and choose one of the many restaurants surrounding the harbour. Afterwards, continue towards the promenade or explore the nightlife around Benalmádena Costa.
Families can combine the evening with an attraction earlier in the day, while couples can simply enjoy dinner and a walk around the marina.
See our things to do in Benalmádena guide for more inspiration.
10. Enjoy a Classic Costa del Sol Beach Day
Finally, keep at least one day relatively simple.
August is peak summer season on the Costa del Sol, and some of the best holiday moments still involve nothing more complicated than the Mediterranean Sea, a beach and a long lunch.
Popular options include:
- Playa de la Malagueta – Málaga
- Playa de la Carihuela – Torremolinos
- Playa de Bil Bil – Benalmádena
- Playa de Los Boliches – Fuengirola
- Playa de Cabopino – Marbella
Go early if you want a good spot, especially during the weekend. For lunch, try a traditional chiringuito and order local favourites such as espetos de sardinas, fried fish or grilled seafood.
Make the Most of Week 33 on the Costa del Sol
There is no shortage of things to do in Costa del Sol this week. Week 33 offers an excellent mix of major events and classic summer experiences.
The biggest highlight is undoubtedly the start of the Feria de Málaga on 15 August, but Marbella's summer concerts, Mago Orbit in Fuengirola, dolphin excursions and warm evenings in Mijas and Benalmádena make it easy to build a varied itinerary.
And remember: you do not always have to pay full price.
With the Costa Card, you can access exclusive discounts, benefits and free extras at participating attractions, restaurants and experiences throughout the Costa del Sol.
