Things to Do in Costa del Sol This Week (7–13 September 2026)

Looking for the best things to do in Costa del Sol this week? From 7 to 13 September 2026, the Costa del Sol swaps some of its huge summer festivals for traditional Andalusian celebrations, live music, sport and local culture.

The big event is undoubtedly the Feria de Mijas, which takes over Mijas Pueblo for almost the entire week. Fuengirola welcomes Finnish rock legends Apulanta, Torremolinos combines sport with the international Bresh party concept, while Estepona welcomes a stage of La Vuelta.

Here are the Costa Card highlights.

Experience the Feria de Mijas

When: 7–12 September 2026
Where: Mijas Pueblo
Admission: Many activities and concerts are free

If you experience only one local celebration this week, make it the Feria de Mijas.

The traditional fair runs from Monday 7 until Saturday 12 September, bringing six days of music, food, fairground attractions and Andalusian traditions to Mijas Pueblo.

Major concerts announced for the 2026 edition include Camela, Medina Azahara, Marta Quintero and Alba Dreid. The programme is deliberately designed for different generations and includes activities for families as well as evening entertainment.

Unlike some of the Costa del Sol's huge commercial summer festivals, the Feria offers visitors a chance to experience a celebration built primarily around the local community.

And the setting makes it even better. Mijas Pueblo's whitewashed streets and mountain location provide a very different atmosphere from the coastal resorts below.

See Apulanta at Castillo Sohail

When: Saturday 12 September
Doors: 19:00
Where: Marenostrum Fuengirola – Castillo Sohail
Tickets: From €60.50 including fees and VAT

Saturday brings something unusual to Fuengirola.

Legendary Finnish rock band Apulanta performs at the Fundación Unicaja stage beside Castillo Sohail.

The concert forms part of what has become a recurring series of Finnish performances in Fuengirola, reflecting the city's particularly strong connection with Finland and its Finnish community.

The combination of rock music, Castillo Sohail and the Mediterranean makes this one of the week's most distinctive ticketed events.

Watch La Vuelta Arrive in Estepona

When: Friday 11 September
Stage: Vélez-Málaga → Estepona → Peñas Blancas

One of Spain's biggest sporting events comes to the Costa del Sol this week.

On Friday, stage 19 of La Vuelta 2026 travels from Vélez-Málaga towards Estepona before finishing at Peñas Blancas.

Estepona's official September programme confirms the stage for 11 September.

For cycling fans, this is easily one of the most important things to do in Costa del Sol this week.

Even if you don't normally follow professional cycling, watching a Grand Tour pass through the region can be a memorable experience.

Bresh Comes to Torremolinos

When: Saturday 12 September
Doors: 18:30
Where: Plaza de Toros, Avenida del Real, Torremolinos
Tickets: From €15

The famous Bresh party concept arrives at Torremolinos on Saturday as part of the Plaza Paraíso summer programme.

The Plaza de Toros is transformed into an afternoon and evening entertainment venue, with the event beginning at 18:30.

It is one of the strongest options this week for younger travellers and groups of friends looking for a party rather than a traditional concert.

Free Flamenco & Modern Dance in Estepona

When: Tuesday 8 September, 21:30
Where: Parque Botánico Orquidario, Estepona
Admission: Free

For something more local, head towards Estepona on Tuesday evening.

Dance school El Taller del Arte, directed by José Franco and Inmaculada Carmona, presents an outdoor evening combining flamenco and modern dance at the Orchid Park.

Admission is free while seats remain.

This is exactly the type of smaller local activity worth looking for after the major July and August festival season.

Experience Flamenco Guitar in Estepona

When: Friday 11 & Saturday 12 September
Where: Huber Art & Food, Calle San Antonio 27, Estepona

Estepona also offers a more intimate musical option.

On Friday, Daniel Casares and Julián Bedmar perform a flamenco guitar concert at Huber Art & Food. The official agenda lists the concert at 20:00 with tickets at €25.

The venue's September programme continues on Saturday with another flamenco guitar evening.

For visitors wanting to hear flamenco away from a large tourist show, this is an interesting alternative.

Take on Cañada del Lobo

When: Friday 11 September
Where: Torremolinos

Prefer something active?

Torremolinos hosts the II Subida Vertical Contrarreloj Cañada del Lobo on Friday.

The mountain race covers approximately four kilometres but climbs around 500 metres, making it considerably tougher than the distance might suggest.

The route heads towards the Cañada del Lobo natural area above Torremolinos.

It is primarily an event for registered runners, but it also highlights one of the Costa del Sol's most overlooked features: excellent hiking and mountain terrain just minutes from the beaches.

Final Chance to Visit DINOEXPO XXL

Until: Sunday 13 September
Where: Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos, Estepona
Opening: 10:00–14:00 & 19:00–23:00
Tickets: Adults €12 | Children aged 2–14 €10

Families have one final week to visit DINOEXPO XXL.

The exhibition features more than 120 life-size dinosaur models across approximately 5,000 m², alongside children's areas and educational displays.

The exhibition closes on 13 September, making this the final opportunity to include it in your Costa del Sol itinerary.

It remains open throughout this week and continues until 19 September.

San Miguel Sports Weekend in Torremolinos

Torremolinos is already building towards its famous Feria de San Miguel later in September.

On Saturday 12 September, the town hosts the XVII Feria San Miguel pétanque tournament and the XXII Torremolinos Chess Open.

Then, on Sunday 13 September, the Carrera Popular San Miguel 2026 brings runners of different ages onto the streets of Torremolinos.

These events provide an early taste of the San Miguel celebrations before the main Feria begins later in the month.

Costa Card Local Tip

September is one of the best months for combining the coast with inland villages.

Temperatures remain warm enough for the beach, while traditional local fairs begin to take a bigger role in the cultural calendar.

This week, combine a morning or afternoon by the Mediterranean with an evening in Mijas Pueblo. It gives you two completely different sides of the Costa del Sol in a single day.
